Performing Arts
Travelling dance and drama troupes put on performances wherever they went. They performed many of the classical dances that are still known and practiced today.
Literature
Many of the greatest poets of those times were court poets. They performed great dramas, reenactments, and plays for the Royal Court. One of the most famous poets of the time was Kalidasa. He was a court poet for Chandra Gupta of the Gupta Empire. (His plays continue to provide enjoyment today)
Math
Indian mathematicians were consequential to history. Indians were most of the greatest mathematicians of the world. One of these mathematicians was Aryabhata, who calculated the value of pi to four decimal places. Others invented modern numerals, the decimal system, and the concept of the number '0'.
Medicine
India's advances in medicine are incredible! They were performing plastic surgery, back in 600 BC. Indians also used mostly herbal medicinal methods. This method is called Ayurveda.
Astronomy
Before Indians heard of the Western solar calender, they had their lunar calender. A month on the lunar calender Two months on the lunar calender are about one month on the solar calender. The lunar month begins with new moon (Purnima), followed by no moon (Amaas) about two weeks later, and ending the month with Purnima. This cycle takes about one solar month, and
